The Food Stays in the Kitchen

This is hilarious. But it also has real-world application in that it shows how a seemingly clear statute can come to be applied in counter-intuitive ways. In the example as in real life, the judges aren’t in bad faith. They are honestly trying to apply the law consistently with both how it is written and how it has been applied in the past, just as judges are supposed to do,  And yet you still end up with a crazy result.
